Join us for a Zombie Fun Run and Halloween movies under the stars at 5:30 pm, on October 22, at the Sunset Drive-In in Colchester!

Ghouls On The Run is the brainchild of Piper and Holly (4G) to raise funds for their favorite non-profit organization, Girls On The Run Vermont. The night will begin at the Sunset Drive-In in Colchester, who has graciously agreed to open on October 22 specifically for this event, at 5:30. Parents should arrive already transformed into hideous creatures of the undead and be ready to chase. We recommend you let your kids help with your makeup, as they love this part. Parents (zombies) will line the short fun run course around the periphery of the Sunset Drive-In, while children run, dodge zombies, and gather treats. The night will conclude with It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, followed by Goosebumps (2015). First movie starts at approximately 6:20, after the last group of kids completes the run. Please register in advance, so we can plan accordingly.

ZOMBIE MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Plan on allowing your kids to take part in your transformation into a hideous creature of the undead. They love this part! Plan to arrive at 5:30, already transformed, so we can get the run started ASAP. Makeup can be purchased at Amazon, Spirit Halloween, or there are even homemade tutorials online that use food coloring and cornstarch as a base. If you’re not sure how to get the undead look, allow Paige and Piper to demonstrate in the video below.

If you really want to go for a Zoscar worthy performance, consider an ensemble of tattered, torn, stained, and malodorous attire. Nothing sells your zombie performance better than a disheveled attire that makes the statement: I just crawled out of a six foot deep grave after 10+ years.

  • If your kiddo hasn’t completely gorged themselves on treats, the Sunset Drive-In offers a full snack bar.

  • Of course not. But it would be a lot cooler if you did!

  • The Sunset Drive-In will charge normal admission fees for the event. There is no charge for the Zombie Run, but Holly and Piper would greatly appreciate any donations to Girls On The Run Vermont through the link on this site.

  • Chairs, or blankets, to sit outside your vehicle are a good idea. Portable radios to tune into the audio of the movie are recommended, and warm attire for the chilly fall evening.

  • Costumes are absolutely not required, but as long as it doesn’t impede them from running, sure.
